Your business could win 2 tickets to the Sunday Sip Drag Brunch! To enter your business for the judging panel to consider, email info@ferniepride.ca or visit ferniepride.ca/windows before Friday, September 6th. Decorations must be up by the end of the day on Friday, September 13th to be judged.
The winning business will be announced at the City Hall Flag Raising on Thursday, September 19th. Judging will be based on creativity, effort, theme and completeness. There is a bonus point for incorporating the festival poster! A list of all businesses participating in the window display contest will also be listed on our website and social media, helping encourage more people to visit your business and check out your display.
This contest is a fantastic way for businesses like yours to demonstrate your commitment to diversity, acceptance, and equality. By participating, you’ll not only showcase your creativity and artistic flair but also contribute to creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone in our community.

Does my business need to be on 2nd Ave to participate?
Nope! We would LOVE participation from all across the community.
Where can I find decorations?
IGS sells a selection of rainbow and pride-themed items in September as part of the festival. You can also get creative with stationary supplies or order online. A quick and easy way to decorate is to use window markers.
Even better: utilize items from your business like merchandise!
Do the judges accept bribes?
No… the best way to bribe us is to come to the festival and tell others about how awesome your window display looks.
Where can I get ideas for the Queer Quotes theme?
Quote a film, find a famous historical quote, a song lyric, get as creative as you can!
Which dates should our windows be decorated?
Windows should be decorated from the evening of Friday, September 13th through to Sunday, September 22nd. That is, start the weekend before the Elk Valley Pride Festival, until the end of the Festival.
How can I get a festival poster?
Posters will be distributed through town during the first week of September. If you haven’t received one and would like one, please send an email to info@ferniepride.ca or a DM on Instagram @fernie_pride_society.
