Major Projects

Some of our Projects

Queer Health Initiative

Supporting 2SLGBTQ+ in whole health.

This project has many sub-projects, including subsidized counseling, free at-home HIV testing kits, gender inclusive washrooms, and pay-what-you-can hair cuts.

Elk Valley Capacity Project

A survey of the local communities for a Needs Assessment and Final Report, entitled Strengthening Community Capacity for Inclusion in BC’s Elk Valley were conducted.

The results of the survey include the experiences of the 2SLGBTQ+ community in this area, needs, and statistics across a variety of metrics.

Following the survey was the creation of a 2SLGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion Guide, including employer self-audit tools.

Columbia Basin 2SLGBTQ+ Network

Phase 2 of the Elk Valley Capacity Project includes the creation of a Columbia Basin 2SLGBTQ+ Network, which was initiated with the Queer out Here conference held in February 2023.

The regional pride groups are now holding monthly meetings to support each other and coordinate efforts.
