DESCRIPTION:How can I best contribute to transforming my workplace? \n\n\n\nActive Allyship provides practical\, evidence-based solutions to establish an allyship practice intended to advance positive change in workplaces and transform your workplace culture to attract and sustain a diverse workforce—one that is representative of Canadian society. \n\n\n\nThe practical strategies offered in Active Allyship are brought to life through the stories of eight active allies\, focused on 5 communities: \n\n\n\n-Indigenous People-Visible Minorities-Persons with Disabilities-2SLGBTQIA+ Persons-Women \n\n\n\nDr. Jocelyn Peltier-Huntley\, P.Eng. has more than 20 years of experience leading change. After starting her career in the Elk Valley coal industry\, she worked in mining for 13 years and is now focused on leading and inspiring positive change through equity\, diversity\, and inclusion consulting. Her PhD project\, “Activating Allies” focused on creating better workplaces for everyone by engaging everyone. Through her business\, Prairie Catalyst Consulting\, Jocelyn creates awareness and removes roadblocks so that individuals and organizations can realize the benefits of inclusion and achieve their full potential. Jocelyn’s first book\, Active Allyship: Embracing a practice of inclusion to transform workplace culture\, was published in 2025. DESCRIPTION:Fernie Pride Society is pleased to offer a $500 scholarship to a 2SLGBTQ+ graduating student from an Elk Valley school. \n\n\n\nIn 2026\, there is one scholarship offered per community (Fernie\, Sparwood\, and Elkford). \n\n\n\nThis scholarship seeks to empower the next generation of 2SLGBTQ+ leaders. \n\n\n\nThose applying must be furthering their education and show proof of acceptance prior to receiving the funds. Ideally\, applicants will have experience with their respective schools GSA (if applicable) and have demonstrated community involvement. \n\n\n\nPlease submit your .pdf application essay to info@ferniepride.ca\, email subject line as 2026 FPS Scholarship. \n\n\n\nYou can determine your own essay topic\, but we would like to hear about you. \n\n\n\n– Who inspires you? \n\n\n\n– Where would you like to see the 2SLGBTQ+ community in 10 years? \n\n\n\n– How has your lived experience impacted your educational career? \n\n\n\nPlease ensure the essay is no longer than 3000 words. Essay should be attached to email in .pdf format and is due no later than Friday\, April 17 by midnight. Late applications will not be accepted.
