Please follow Cranbrook Pride to stay current on all of the amazing things they will be bringing you this July! Unfortunately, the celebration in 2020 will be a virtual one but that doesn’t mean that there will not be a party! A big thanks to the organizers, volunteers, and supporters for making sure Cranbrook Pride remains a great community event for all!
Sunday, May 17 is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia, a worldwide celebration of sexual and gender diversities.
Join Fernie Pride for a #IDAHOTB walk this Sunday at 2 PM leaving from the Fernie Skatepark and walking towards Hosmer on the Elk Valley Trail. We will walk for approximately 45 minutes in that direction and then return for a 90ish minute walk.
Everyone is welcome; participants must observe social distancing of two metres and dress appropriately for weather.
We look forward to celebrating this important day with all of you and taking it outside with Fernie Pride!

Camp fYrefly is Canada’s only national youth leadership retreat for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, asexual, intersex, queer, questioning, and allied youth. The camp provides a space for youth to explore their identity, build resilience and enhance self-esteem, all while having an awesome camp experience. Participants return home with a support network of positive friendships, trusted adult mentors, and an empowered sense of self.
With the current Covid-19 pandemic a physical Camp fYrefly in Kananaskis (June 30-July 3) will unfortunately not be running. While we know that nothing will quite replace the in-person experience of Camp fYrefly, the amazing organizers are committed to creating an online and remote option so participants still have access to support and community. Camp fYrefly is a space that exists not just alongside a river or lake, in a cabin or forest but in the hearts, minds and connections to community. Further updates will be available soon to provide more info on online camp.
Covid-19 has put so much in limbo; surgeries are getting cancelled, you are quarantined with people you may or may not be out to, and we aren’t even sure what’s possible and what’s not at the moment…If you’re looking for trans support, practical things as well as emotional support, please contact the amazing people at Trans Connect for help and support.
Big day for dates! Mark your calendars for September 24-27, 2020 for the Elk Valley Pride Festival! We are going ahead with planning and are so excited to bring you another edition of this amazing event full of performances, speakers, arts and literature, outdoor activities and so much more!
