2SLGBTQ+ Youth

Fernie Pride Society youth initiatives are proudly supported by the Tegan & Sara Foundation, Fierte Canada Pride and the Government of British Columbia.

The T&S Foundation raises awareness and funds, fights for equality and justice through flagship programming and support of grassroots organizations and communities that often go unrecognized by major funding institutions. Please consider supporting this amazing Foundation and visit their website to find out more.

Current 2SLGBTQ+ Youth Events

Fall/Winter 2023/24

Kick off for Fall/Winter Youth Events is an Arcade Night.

Sunday, October 22nd at 5:30 pm at the Vogue Theatre in Fernie.

Elk Valley and South Country 2SLGBTQ+ youth and allies are invited to a night of pizza and arcade games at the Vogue Theatre in Fernie!
This is a FREE event but registration is appreciated so we know how much pizza to order.

Email info@ferniepride.ca for more info or to notify us of specific dietary needs. We will do our best to meet these but cannot guarantee being able to accommodate.

2SLGBTQ+ Youth Scholarship

Funding permitting, Fernie Pride is pleased to offer a scholarship to a graduating high school student from the Elk Valley or South Country.

Winners are selected by a subcommittee of the Fernie Pride Society Board, based upon essay submissions.

The 2SLGBTQ+ community in Canada has poorer economic outcomes than the heterosexual community. Providing funding for pursuit of post-secondary education (including trades), helps both the immediate and longer term outcomes for the queer community.

Donations toward the scholarship are greatly appreciated and can be made here on our website.

About Us

The Fernie Pride Society supports and connects the 2SLGBTQ+ community in the Elk Valley.  Incorporated in December 2016, the Society is a hub for 2SLGBTQ+ people and their allies, programming special events as well as providing resource referrals.
