Camp fYrefly is Canada’s only national youth leadership retreat for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, asexual, intersex, queer, questioning, and allied youth. The camp provides a space for youth to explore their identity, build resilience and enhance self-esteem, all while having an awesome camp experience. Participants return home with a support network of positive friendships, trusted adult mentors, and an empowered sense of self.
With the current Covid-19 pandemic a physical Camp fYrefly in Kananaskis (June 30-July 3) will unfortunately not be running. While we know that nothing will quite replace the in-person experience of Camp fYrefly, the amazing organizers are committed to creating an online and remote option so participants still have access to support and community. Camp fYrefly is a space that exists not just alongside a river or lake, in a cabin or forest but in the hearts, minds and connections to community. Further updates will be available soon to provide more info on online camp.
